Postcrossing

For anyone that isn't familiar with Postcrossing, you should really check it out. Basically, its a free service to receive postcards from all around the world. The only cost is when you send a postcard (postage isn't very much - even if its going to China). I sent 5 postcards for about $7.00 (one to China, Russia, Ireland, Germany, & one within the US).
I received my first postcard today. It's from Russia by a lady named Irina. It is a portrait of Natalie Coucharoug - whom is the wife of a famous Russian Poet, A.S Pushrin.
I can't wait to see where else I get them from - I think I will start a scrapbook to put them in :)

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you're trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high; And you want to smile, but you have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver... tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are; It may be near when it seems so afar. So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - when things go wrong that you mustn't quit! -author unknown

Hobbies or Addictions?

So I have some things that I feel I have to do at least every other day if not daily...What determines if something is a Hobby or an Addiction? If they are fun and excite me - you would think they would be Hobbies of mine? However, I hear drugs and drinking are fun and exciting to some people but those are considered Addictions, right? Does a Hobby have to be something you make or something you physically do like a sport? Or is something you make just a craft and a sport just a sport? Mmm that is the question.... Here are the definitions of the two - Hobby: an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation Addiction: the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice The activities that I do for pleasure and relaxation, and in my mind are very habit forming as I feel I have to do some of them daily, every other day, or at least every 3 days are Facebook, Farmville, and Blogging. I don't watch much TV so maybe these have taken the place of tv? Either way, I feel happy about these as I get to share my thoughts and feelings and even get to farm a little on the side while doing it! I have several other things I am interested in at the moment, however, I do not feel as tied to them nor do I have to participate weekly. Maybe I will write about all of my interest in blogging to come. As far as I am concerned these are considered a few of my current interest, not necessarily hobbies or addictions :)

Swanky [swang-kee] - elegant, stylish, chic, fashionable.

Having a 12 year old son, I thought I had heard all the up to date slang. Some of it good and funny, some of it crazy and leaves you wondering where our kids are headed. However, the other day I heard Swanky on tv and I love it. It has a unique and witty ring to it! I think I am gonna start calling everything Swanky!

Music to my ears - NOT !

The inventor of the mobile was Alexander Calder but no where can I find who invented actually putting the music box on the mobile. I would almost bet that it wasn't a mother. The mobiles for a babys crib last just long enough for you to take about a 5 minute shower, or just in time for them to close their eyes. Then, all of a sudden, no more sweet dreams, they are crying. I even have a little music box that you wind that isn't a mobile and it runs out right when her eyes are closing and then stops. Why can't they last for like 10 minutes? If it will wind up for 5 mins is it so much to ask for it to go another 5? I mean I would even settle if it were 2x bigger in size. Guess I will go get her a JAM BOX with batteries and a CD. One good thing out of all this - I remembered how to take a shower and dry off again - all in 5 minutes :)

Spare Time ?

Well I thought as much as I enjoy the boys in sports that I would be looking forward to them ending. For the past 4 months we had baseball and football 3-4 nights a week plus everything that went on with the baby. However, my schedule still seems as busy even though the sports ended and baby Charli is here and healthy. To catch up on my blog, I thought I would share my last week with everyone. I started back work last week, mostly from home. Its alot harder than I thought it would be. Trying to work on something, take care of Charli in between, and other stuff around the house (not to mention running on about 4-5 hours of sleep) is not easy. I have always thought of myself as a very strong person but most days I feel lazy and run down because I can't keep up with everything. Thank God for my husband because he is very understanding and helps when he can. If I don't have supper fixed one night, he just says ok. He even let me sleep in last Saturday morning..ahhh... Speaking of Saturday, it started with Tylers football awards party. It was at Climbing High. He got a nice trophy and seemed to have fun running up and jumping on the velcro wall. Then we headed over to the Watkins for a McHamkin Clemson vs NC State game. Yep - VICTORY again! We then decided we would all go next weekend to Clemson vs Virginia and take the kiddos - can't wait! Sunday was a beautiful day. Perry worked in the yard and I took my mom to Costco for the first time. She acted like it was Christmas. Charli had some visitors - I would say I did but they really came to see her. Angi and Caysie from work came to visit, and Angi was bearing gifts as always! We got more clothes, toys ,and like 8 bottles of milk - OH YEAH, drink up Char-lay. Oh, I almost forgot, a highlight of the weekend for the boys was my mom got them their Wii. You have to name your console when you first hook it up - the boys named it Wii Tard! Funny. Monday started back off another week, I couldn't sign on at home because I had to reset my password, so I went in Monday night. It was weird being back at the office. I am very fortunate they are letting me split time between home, nights, and weekends to keep little one out of daycare during the flu months. Welp until next time or something else exciting happens.....

This Week

This week has been kinda slow going...my new favorite song that is kinda like a jingle you can't get rid of is 'so I throw my hands up, their playin my song, and the butterflies fly away, noddin my head like YEAH, movin my hips like YEAH' by Miley Cirus. Our first time to go see daddy at work was today. We surprised him and Granna. Daddy held her and walked her around ( I wasn't too keen on letting everyone hold her yet ). Granna walked with us, she was excited to show her off to everyone. We went and had lunch at Zaxbys - it was a good day. Charli still pretty much sleeps and eats every 3-4 hours. She seems to like going to pick up the boys because she sleeps good in her carseat. Most of the time when we get back she is sound asleep so I leave her in it for a little while until she wakes up. It looks warm and cozy in that thing - wish I had one to catch up my sleep. Saturday is Cason's last game and awards day. Can't wait to see him get his trophy! Then off to the Clemson game we go. Been waiting on that day for a long time now. It will be our first full day and night away from Charli - I know Granna and Pops will take good care of her.
